President Andrzej Duda has appointed Krzysztof Szczerski, until now head of the President's Office, as the presidential commissioner for the establishment of the International Policy Bureau.

Szczerski has told PAP that Duda expects the new bureau to carry out tasks resulting from the fact that the president is Poland's highest representative in the international arena.

The minister said that work on the project, a "diplomatic National Security Bureau" as he termed it, started today. "We are starting work on various concepts of such an office, the final decision on the organisational shape of the bureau will be made by the president," said Szczerski.

The minister said that the International Policy Bureau will cooperate with the prime minister and the minister of foreign affairs in the implementation of Poland's foreign policy.
