President will not privatise hospitals for as long as he holds office

Polish President Andrzej Duda declared on Monday that he would never approve the privatisation of public hospitals "as long as he holds the post," and signed a declaration to this effect.
The president stated that the public health service, as well as access to health services - irrespective of where one lives - was important in the fight against the coronavirus epidemic.
Duda repeated that being a candidate in the ongoing presidential election campaign, he wanted to clearly declare that a privatisation of the public health service would be out of the question as long as he was president. He also underlined that he would not allow for a situation in which the number of health service centres, where every citizen was equally treated and received treatment when necessary, would be reduced.
