President Andrzej Duda on Thursday signed into law a number of regulations adjusting social and economic life to the rigours imposed by the Covid-19 epidemic. Among others, the new laws uphold to-date VAT thresholds at 23 and 8 percent.

The authors of the new regulations said a return to earlier VAT thresholds (22 pct and 7 pct) was possible only in a year following a year in which Poland has met a number of regulatory requirements, including the introduction of a stabilising financial rule and a public debt of no higher than 43 percent GDP.

The new laws also introduce a PLN 23 (EUR 5.1) per 1,000 litre fuel excise cut from 2021.
