President Duda offers condolences after plane crash in Kazakhstan

President Andrzej Duda has sent a letter of condolence to Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev after the death of 12 people in a passenger plane crash at Almaty airport.

"It is with great sorrow that I received the news about the plane crash that took place today at the airport in Almaty. I would like to offer, on behalf of the Polish nation, my deepest sympathy to all those affected by this tragic event," the Polish president wrote in the message.

A Fokker 100 aircraft operated by Kazakhstan-based carrier Bek Air scheduled to the capital Nur-Sultan with almost 100 people onboard crashed seconds after takeoff near Almaty airport on Friday, killing at least 12 people and injuring dozens more.
