Poznań teen crowned Transition Queen after racking up over 8.5 million worldwide followers on Tik Tok app

A teenager from Poznań has been crowned global Transitioner Queen after amassing a staggering 8.5 million followers on popular app Tik Tok.
Maria Jeleniewska, 17, who also has nearly 175 million hearts on the platform, was given the title for having over 20 of the most popular 30 transition videos on the app.
Popular among 16-24-year-olds, users create short videos usually of them dancing or lip-syncing.
Joining social media in 2016, the teen first began posting on Instagram before finding Tik Tok where she shot to fame though a video technique known as transition.

With an astonishing 19 billion views for the hashtag transition and a further 5 billion for #transitioner, the popularity of the site has seen the teen propelled to stardom.
In addition to her millions of followers, she has also attracted the attention of international brands who now employ her as an ‘influencer’.
To date, the Poznań star has already worked with big names such as Wedel, H&M, Maybelline, Fanta and Adidas.
Tik Tok has 500 million monthly users worldwide and was downloaded 188 million times in the first three months of 2019, a 70 percent increase on the same period in 2018.
This was also the most downloaded app in the same period which isn’t owned by Facebook.
In addition to her millions of followers, she has also attracted the attention of international brands who now employ her as an ‘influencer’.
Over two thirds of users are under thirty with 41 percent of users being between 16 and 24.
The app is available in 155 countries and in 75 languages.
