Poznań added to Michelin Guides’ prestigious list of top culinary cities

Poznań is Poland’s newest addition to the prestigious group of cities featured in the Michelin Guide.

The Polish selection launched in 1997 with the addition of Warsaw as part of the Main Cities of Europe Guide and expanded in 2008 with the inclusion of Kraków , has now added Poznań to its repertoire.

Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guides, said: “With its Old Market Square – one of its gems – and streets full of charm, Poznań is a city our inspectors have enjoyed exploring.

As has been the case since its inception in 1900, the guide’s restaurant selection will be created in an independent manner by its expert inspectors, following the universal and historical methodology of The MICHELIN Guide.Polish Tourism Organisation

“Its cuisine reflects its cosmopolitan outlook, with influences ranging from Italy to Japan and, while chefs show respect for traditional recipes, they are not afraid to interpret these in a modern fashion.”

The western city will now welcome the guide’s anonymous inspectors to its establishments aiming to show Polish cuisine and innovation.

“Across all three Polish cities, professional talent shines, with ambitious chefs keen to reinterpret the essence of Polish cuisine and highlight Poland’s gastronomy on the international culinary scene”, continued Poullennec.

Creating a partnership with the Polish Tourism Organization, the Michelin Guide aims to promote Warsaw, Kraków and Poznań selections to the world.
