Pope Francis appoints Pole as nuncio to Guinea and Mali
Pope Francis appointed Polish priest Tymon Tytus Chmielecki to the position of apostolic nuncio to Guinea and Mali, the press office of the Holy See announced on Tuesday.
The Pope raised Chmielecki to the rank of Archbishop. The 52-year-old priest started his diplomatic service in the Holy See in 1995. He previously worked in the Vatican's diplomatic representations in Georgia, Senegal, Austria, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Brasil.
