Polish veterans receive Legion of Honour medals from French minister

Three Polish WWII veterans were handed the Legion of Honour medals, France's highest public awards, by French Defence Minister Florence Parly at a ceremony held at the French Embassy in Warsaw on Monday.

The medals were awarded to Colonel Jan Skowron, Major Marian Slowinski and Major Zygmunt Wlodarczyk by the French president for their contribution to the French armed forces and resistance during WWII.

French President Emmanuel Macron and his delegation arrived for a two-day visit to Poland on Monday.
