Polish President Andrzej Duda said on Thursday that Polish-US cooperation had recently been raised to a level never seen before, and stated that the concrete effects of his politics were visible today.

"This is the result of my meetings with President Donald Trump and US investors," Duda told a Polish public radio broadcaster. The Polish head of state, on Wednesday, met with his American counterpart in Washington.

According to President Duda, the concrete effects of these policies are visible today. As examples, he referred to the growing military US presence in Poland, gas contracts which increase Poland's energy security and the large US investments of companies, such as Microsoft and Google.

"This is the result of this cooperation and my meetings with representatives of large companies over the last five years, both in the US and in Poland," he stated, adding that mutual trade had recently gone up by 50 percent, but especially during President Trump's presidency.

"This is a huge change. The US has also become Poland's ever greater economic partner. I am very glad, since this is the largest global economy. This is a stable democratic country, this is our tested ally, whose military presence in Poland has been ensuring our security," Duda said, stating that this cooperation should continue.

The Polish president added that the cooperation was beneficial to both Poland and the US. "Of course, each of us is thinking about the interests of one's own country, but we are aware of the fact that we meet where both sides win," he concluded.
