Polish professor receives honorary doctorate in Vietnam

Professor Cezary Madryas, Rector of Wrocław University of Science and Technology, ­received a honoris causa doctorate on Friday of the Ton Duc Thang University in Ho Chi Minh City, in Vietnam.

Michał Ciepielski from the Wrocław University told PAP that the professor was distinguished for his involvement in the development of cooperation between the two universities and between Vietnam and Poland.

During his visit to Vietnam, Cezary Madryas signed a collaboration agreement with the Vietnamese National University of Civil Engineering. The cooperation assumes the exchange of students and employees in the scope of the Erasmus plus programme.

Professor Madryas also met with representatives of the Viet-Pol International Cooperation and Overseas Education Consulting Centre, an organisation associating Vietnamese graduates of Polish universities. A cooperation agreement was also signed there. The organisation is to help in recruiting young people who would like to study at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology.
