Polish president congratulates Macron on presidential victory
Andrzej Duda, the Polish president, has congratulated his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, on his re-election on Sunday.
Macron won 58.55 percent of the vote against the far-right Marine Le Pen's 41.45 percent, according to the French Interior Ministry.
"I warmly congratulate Emmanuel Macron on his victory in the presidential vote and his re-election," Duda tweeted on Sunday night after exit polls showed Macron had defeated Le Pen.
"We have met many times in recent months and I'm very pleased that we'll be able to continue dialogue between Poland and France," Duda also said.
"Mes félicitations, cher @Emmanuel Macron!" Duda concluded.
