Polish president congratulates EU's Tusk on EPP head election
Polish President Andrzej Duda congratulated former European Council President Donald Tusk on Wednesday evening on his election as the European People's Party (EPP) leader.
"Congratulations to Donald Tusk on his election as the EPP Chairman. I wish you good luck and many personal successes," Duda wrote on Twitter.
The EPP elected Tusk as its leader on Wednesday, replacing Frenchman Joseph Daul.
Tusk, Poland's two-time PM, was elected with 491 votes in favour and 37 against at the party's congress in Zagreb. He will hold the chair for three years.
