Polish PM, Warsaw mayor top popularity ranking - poll
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski are Poles' favourite politicians, a recent public opinion survey has found.
When asked 'Who was the best politician of 2020?' 18 percent of respondents named Morawiecki and the same percentage pointed to Trzaskowski, President Andrzej Duda's challenger in Poland's last presidential vote, according to an opinion poll carried out by Pollster and published by the Wirtualna Polska portal on Saturday.
Szymon Hołownia, who came third in the first round of Poland's presidential election, gained 12 percent in the ranking.
He was followed by Duda, with 9-percent backing.
Jarosław Kaczyński, leader of the ruling conservative party Law and Justice (PiS), often regarded as the most powerful politician in Poland, came fifth, gathering 8-percent of positive opinions.
Next came Donald Tusk, head of the EP's European People's Party (EPP) faction and a former Polish prime minister. He was named the best politician of 2020 by 4 percent of those surveyed.
Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, leader of pro-agrarian Polish People's Party and Krzysztof Bosak, leader of the far-right Confederation, each gained 3 percent of votes.
