Polish PM meets his Portuguese counterpart

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, on a one-day visit to Portugal to take part in the Friends of Cohesion summit, met with his Portuguese counterpart Antonio Costa to discuss bilateral relations and key EU issues.

The Friends of Cohesion, whose summit is being held in Beja, is an informal body comprising countries which want to maintain the current shape of the cohesion policy. The meeting will be devoted to the key issues of the EU's multiannual budget for 2021-2027.

Polish government spokesperson Piotr Mueller recalled that Portugal will take over the rotating presidency of the EU Council in January 2021. The talks of the two prime ministers will also concern the challenges of European Neighborhood Policy and the Eastern Policy of the EU.
