Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki arrived in Romania on Thursday morning to attend an informal summit of EU leaders in Sibiu, central Romania.

Morawiecki will start the visit with a meeting of the PMs of the Visegrad Group countries (Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary). Later, Morawiecki, together with remaining participants of the summit, will meet with President of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani.

Later in the day, EU leaders will attend a working luncheon, during which they are planned to discuss EU external relations.

The afternoon session is expected to focus on internal challenges facing the EU. The informal summit is to be the beginning of the road that is to lead to the drafting of an EU strategy up to the year 2024.
