Polish pharmaceutical market grows by 4.6 percent y/y in October

The value of Poland's pharmaceutical market grew by 4.6 percent y/y and by 12.2 percent m/m to PLN 3.6 billion (EUR 804.8 mln) in October 2020, according to a report by pharmaceutical researcher PEX PharmaSequence.

The average Polish pharmacy recorded gross sales of PLN 266,000 (EUR 59,534) in October, 8.4 percent more year on year.

The average retail price of a drug amounted to PLN 22.7 (EUR 5.1) in October, down 0.7 percent from September and a 3.7-percent increase against October 2019.

PEX forecasts that sales of the entire pharmacy market will amount to PLN 37.6 billion (EUR 8.4 bln.) at the end of 2020, whose total is 1.3 percent higher than in 2019.
