Polish Mining group halts operations in most mines

The Polish Mining Group (PGG) has decided to halt operations at ten of its pits from June 12 to July 3 after a Tuesday meeting with trade unions. The stopover was announced on Monday by the State Assets Ministry.
Work will also be put on hold for the same period at two mines belonging to the Jastrzębie Coal Company (JSW).
PGG's Solidarity Union leader Bogusław Hutek said after Tuesday's talks with the group's management that the pits will be closed down on Friday.
PAP learnt from unofficial sources that the mines' crews will undergo coronavirus tests during the pit closures.
Four PGG pits whose crews underwent coronavirus tests earlier will continue working.
