Polish HICP inflation up by 3.7 pct y/y in July - Eurostat

Poland's Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) rose by 3.7 percent year on year in July 2020, against a 3.8 percent increase a month earlier, reports Eurostat, the European Union's statistics office.

Month on month, prices fell by 0.1 percent.

According to Poland's Central Statistical Office (GUS), the Consumer Price Index (CPI) indicator in July amounted to 3.0 percent year on year and minus 0.2 percent month on month.

The HICP provides the official measure of consumer price inflation in the euro area for the purposes of monetary policy and the assessment of inflation convergence as required under the Maastricht criteria for accession to the euro.
