Polish, German presidents discuss coronavirus
Measures against the spreading coronavirus epidemic were the subject of Monday's telephone conversation between Polish President Andrzej Duda and German president Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Duda's aide Krzysztof Szczerski told PAP.
The presidents agreed that only firm actions by state governments can halt the rise of new infections. They also exchanged information about the coronavirus situation in their countries and said that they would remain in regular contact regarding the epidemic.
Earlier on Monday, Duda discussed possible moves against the epidemic with Italian, Estonian and Hungarian presidents Sergio Matarella, Kersti Kaljulaid and Janos Ader, respectively. On Sunday, he also discussed the matter with Lithuanian head of state Gitanas Nauseda.
