Polish-German economic ties are very close, Chancellor Merkel says
Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel said that economic ties between Poland and Germany are very close, after hosting the Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Berlin on Friday.
Talking to reporters afterwards, Merkel said the conversation was about Polish-German relations, "which are very intensive and close with regard to working together in economic matters."
"Our economies are inter-linked," the German leader added, "trade exchange is shaping up very well and what is significant is that there are no big individual investments, but we are talking about medium-sized firms working together on a wide scale."
Merkel also declared Berlin would seek to make sure this trend continues.
"I also want our societies to be in constant contact with each other," she said, "and for the Polish-German co-operation to develop very well."
