Polish food on show at Shanghai import fair

Polish food products are on show from Tuesday at the China International Import Expo (CIIE). Poland's display at the fair was opened on Tuesday by Agriculture Minister Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski.

Ardanowski said Poland's expo offer consisted of food products made according to traditional recipes but with the use of modern production means, and stressed that they were adapted to the specifics of the Chinese market. He added that China was among the main venues for Polish food exporters, and pointed out that Polish food was often on display at food fairs in the country.

Also on Tuesday, Ardanowski spoke with Chinese Minister of the General Administration of Customs Ni Yuefeng, with whom he discussed progress in enabling the sale of Polish poultry and dairy products in China.

Between the beginning of the year and August, Poland sold 76 million euros' worth of food to China, a 16-percent rise on 2017.

Organised by the Chinese government for producers and service providers interested in the Chinese market, the China International Import Expo is the biggest commercial fair event in China.
