Polish epidemic aid reaches Belarus

A Polish epidemic aid convoy with 300 tonnes of face masks, disinfectants, medicines and respirators for Belarus reached the Belarusian capital Minsk on Friday. .

Some of the aid is designated for the Grodno region, inhabited by a large Polish community.

Polish Ambassador to Belarus Artur Michalski told PAP that the aid will be distributed throughout Belarus.

Belarusian Deputy Health Minister Barys Andrasyuk thanked for the aid, and assured that its distribution to medical centres countrywide will commence next week.

The convoy set off from Warsaw on Thursday afternoon. The first Polish aid convoy for Belarus arrived in the country in late April, bringing disinfectants, antiseptics and face masks.
