According to the EC, Poland is second-best in the EU in coping with the Covid-19 pandemic, a top bank official said on Thursday.

Leszek Skiba, head of Poland's Pekao SA bank, wrote on Twitter that EC forecasts placed Poland's economy second in Europe in coping with the pandemic after Ireland, and predicted a more than 5-percent growth in the Polish GDP until the fourth quarter of 2022.

According to the EC, Poland's GDP will rise 3.1 percent this year and 5.1 percent in 2022. The Commission wrote that with a GDP drop of only 2.8 percent, the pandemic-caused economic slump in Poland was among the EU's lowest in 2020.
