Polish commissioner candidate speaks with EC head

Janusz Wojciechowski, Poland's candidate for EU commissioner, said he was pleased with his Wednesday meeting with designated EC President Ursula von der Leyen.

Wojciechowski, a candidate for the EU agriculture commissioner's chair, told reporters after the talks that they mainly concerned agriculture and were "very conrete", and assured that he saw "openings for very good cooperation."

"I have had an official meeting with (designated EC President - PAP) Ursula von der Leyen. I am very pleased with these talks, they were very concrete," Wojciechowski said.

He added that von der Leyen proved well acquainted with his earlier work on the EP's agriculture commission and the European Court of Auditors, and said that no final decisions on the lineup of the new EC had yet fallen.
