Polish apiculture on UNESCO heritage list

Polish apiculture has been included on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Representative List, the Polish culture ministry announced on Thursday. This is the second Polish entry on the list after Krakow's nativity scene tradition.
"This is doubtless an honour for Poland, UNESCO has once again shown appreciation for our cultural heritage," Polish Culture Minister Piotr Glinski said in response to the entry.
Glinski voiced hope that the entry would help popularise beekeeping, which he described as "a tribute to nature, an expression of concern for the good we receive from nature."
The UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Representative List comprises cultural practices and traditions that reflect the diversity of this heritage and raise awareness about its importance.
