'Kill It and Leave This Town', an animated feature film by Mariusz Wilczyński awarded as the best full-length film at the International Animated Film Festival AniFilm in Czechia, the Polish Film Institute announced on Monday.

The Polish Film Institute said in its press release that Wilczyński’s film was the first animated film in history to receive the Polish Eagles Film Award in the Best Film category, and that it has won several awards, both in Poland and internationally.

'Kill It and Leave This Town' is a reflection on the passing of time and took Wilczyński 14 years to complete. The filmmaker returns to his childhood and youth. The film is also an artistic, original, sentimental look at the artist's hometown of Łódź, central Poland.

The producers of the film are Agnieszka Ścibior and Ewa Puszczyńska, while the co-producers are the National Film Institute - Audiovisual Institute, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, EC1, Letko, Nolabel, Di Factory and Gigant Films.
