Polish advertising market up 0.5 pct in Q1 2020 – media agency
The total value of Poland's advertising market stood at PLN 2.1 billion (EUR 478 million) in the first quarter of 2020, up by 0.5 percent, the Publicis Groupe media agency reported on Tuesday.
According to the agency, drops were recorded in all media groups apart from internet and radio.
Online advertising generated a 7.5-percent higher income, while radio advertising revenues rose by 1.0 percent.
Television and outdoor advertising decreased by 3.1 percent and 3.5 percent, respectively. Newspaper and magazine advertising fell by 11.8 percent and 8.4 percent.
The biggest drops were recorded by cinemas, advertising expenditure dropped by 13.5 percent, which resulted from the government's decision to temporarily suspend the operation of cinemas from March 12.
The report showed that the budget of online advertising increased by as much as PLN 57 million (EUR 12.9 million). The expenditure reduction in other media totalled PLN 47 million (EUR 10.7 million).
