Karolina Koszewska (69kg) won a gold medal in women's boxing at the European Games on Saturday defeating Italy's Assunta Canfora 4:1 (29-28, 30-27, 30-27, 29-28, 28-29).

In 2005, Koszewska (then fighting under the name of Łukasik) won the European Championships, an event in which she was runner-up two years earlier. She later became the professional world champion but decided to return to Olympic competition.

On Friday, two Polish women, Sandra Drabik (51kg) and Elżbieta Wójcik (75kg), won bronze medals in boxing at the games.
