Pole Europe's candidate for World Anti-Doping Agency head
Polish Sport and Tourism Minister Witold Bańka was elected on Wednesday as Europe's candidate for the head of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
The election took place during a meeting of the Ad Hoc European Committee for the World Anti-Doping Agency (CAHAMA) at the Council of Europe's seat in Strasbourg.
The election of a new WADA president is to take place during the 5th World Conference on Doping in Sports, scheduled to take place in Katowice, southern Poland, this coming November.
Since May 2017, Minister Bańka has sat on WADA's 12-member executive committee as a representative of Europe.
