Poland's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased to 3.8 percent in May 2021, down from 3.9 percent in the previous month, Eurostat, the EU's statistical office, reported on Thursday.

According to the Eurostat, in May 2021, the unemployment rate in the euro zone countries, according to seasonally adjusted data, was 7.9 percent.

The average unemployment rate in all EU countries was 7.3 percent.

In Poland, the number of unemployed people registered at labour offices stood at 650,000 in May against 676,000 in April, Eurostat said.

According to Poland's Central Statistical Office (GUS), Poland's unemployment rate in May 2021 fell to 6.1 percent from the 6.3 percent level recorded in the previous month.

The discrepancy between GUS and Eurostat figures results from the use of different methodologies.
