Poland's unemployment edges up to 5.5 percent in January - stats office
Poland's unemployment rate rose to 5.5 percent in January 2020 from 5.2 percent a month earlier, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) said on Tuesday.
The Family, Labour and Social Policy Ministry said in early February that January's unemployment was at 5.5 percent.
According to GUS, the number of unemployed people registered at labour offices in January amounted to 922,200, up from 866,400 in December.
Analysts polled by PAP also expected the country's unemployment to stand at 5.5 percent in January.
