Jacek Kurski, chairman of the Polish national state broadcaster TVP, and Jon Ola Sand, the Eurovision Song Contest's executive supervisor, signed an agreement, on Tuesday, on the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019, to be held in Gliwice, southern Poland.

The final of the competition will take place on November 24.

Kurski said that TVP did its best to prepare for the event and added that it will be a great day for Polish television and European music. He stated that the success of Roksana Wegiel, who won the contest last year, served as TVP's inspiration to organise the event.

Jon Ola Sand pointed out that TVP will be utilising the talents of the best professionals to organise the event. "We will definitely see a spectacular show in Gliwice in November. Eurovision is a very complex production, the second largest co-production in Europe, when it comes to entertainment," he added.

A total of 19 countries will participate in this year's Junior Eurovision contest. Poland will be represented by Viki Gabor. She said that it had always been her dream to represent Poland in the competition, and that it will be particularly special this year, as it's the first time in history that Eurovision will be taking place in Poland.

The organiser of the event is the European Broadcasting Union in cooperation with TVP. The competition will take place in Gliwice Arena, and will be broadcast by TVP 1.
