Top Polish fuel concern PKN Orlen has imported another batch of nearly 3 million disposable protective masks to Poland, the company said on Tuesday.

The company said that the latest purchase is an important part of Orlen's broad involvement in the struggle against the coronavirus pandemic. So far, the concern has imported 15 million protective masks.

PKN Orlen CEO Daniel Obajtek stressed that the company "uses every opportunity to help Poles" during this difficult time. "We are increasing the purchase of protective articles for those who are involved in saving the health and lives of Poles on a daily basis," said Obajtek.

Orlen's PLN 100 million aid programme in the fight against the pandemic is primarily directed to medical facilities, uniformed services, as well as staff of social welfare homes.
