At the beginning of April, Poland's biggest oil concern will launch the production of a fluid surface disinfectant, PKN Orlen CEO Daniel Obajtek wrote on Twitter on Friday.

The formula will be produced at Orlen's Trzebinia plant, southern Poland. Initial production is to reach some 3 million litres per month.

The liquid is to be directed to wholesalers and public institutions.

The plant in Trzebinia, belonging to PKN Orlen's subsidiary Orlen Południe, produces biofuels and bio components, as well as solvents used, among others for obtaining solutions in many industrial processes.

Earlier, Obajtek wrote that so far some 820 thousand litres of hand disinfectant has been delivered to Orlen fuel stations and a further 300 thousand to hospitals and public institutions. An additional 200,000 litres was delivered, for their own use, to large (food) stores. This, wrote Obajtek, will enable them to safely continue their operations.
