In 2019, for the first time in its history, national flag carrier LOT carried more than 10 million passengers in a single year.

According to LOT, the servicing of 10 million passengers in one year was the best result in in its 90-year history and more than twice the number of passengers (4.3 mln) carried by LOT in 2105. LOT pointed out that this was the result of, among other factors, the launches of 15 new routes in 2019 and an increase in the frequency on connections that were already in service.

LOT noted that, since 2016, it has been implementing a profitable growth strategy, thanks to which it "doubled its scale of operations and became the undisputed air transport leader in Central and Eastern Europe." LOT added that over the last four years, it had launched over 80 new connections, and just in 2019, four long-distance connections to Miami, Dehli and Colombo from Warsaw, and from Budapest to Seoul.

The carrier announced that it would launch 16 more routes in 2020, including from Krakow to New York, from Warsaw to San Francisco and from Budapest to Stuttgart, Sofia, Belgrade, Brussels and Dubrovnik.

LOT also noted that in 2018 it carried over 8.9 million passengers, 2 million more than in 2017.

The carrier now offers more than 120 connections, including 19 long-haul connections, and supports flights from nearly 100 airports in the world. In November, a 15th Boeing 787 Dreamliner joined LOT's fleet and, by the end of 2020, the number of Dreamliners will increase to 17.
