Poland's industrial production up in January - Eurostat

Poland's industrial production rose by 6.1 percent year on year in January 2019, after growth of 2.8 percent in December 2018, the European Union's statistics office, Eurostat, reported on Wednesday.

Industrial production in the euro zone fell by 1.1 percent year on year and rose by 1.4 percent month on month in January, Eurostat said.

According to Poland's Central Statistical Office (GUS), Poland's industrial output rose by 6.1 percent year on year in January 2019, after a 7.4 percent increase year on year in December 2018.

In month-on-month terms, industrial production in January 2019 went up by 1.7 percent after a 0.4 percent decline in December 2018, GUS said.

Differences between GUS and Eurostat data may arise from the application of different calculation methods.
