Poland's industrial production up 1.5 pct y/y in August - stats office

Poland's industrial output rose by 1.5 percent year on year in August 2020, after a 1.1-percent increase year on year in July, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) said on Friday.

Month on month, industrial production fell by 5.8 percent in August after a 3.4-percent increase in July.

Economists polled by PAP expected August's industrial output to rise by 1.8 percent year on year and decrease by 5.6 percent month on month.

August's seasonally adjusted industrial production index went up by 1.8 percent year on year and by 0.6 percent month on month, GUS added.

Industrial production prices went down 1.2 percent year on year in August and by 0.3 percent month on month, GUS reported.

According to economists surveyed by PAP, producer prices were expected to go down by 1.0 percent year on year and rise by 0.1 percent month on month.
