Poland's industrial production down 17 pct y/y in May - stats office

Poland's industrial output fell by 17.0 percent year on year in May 2020, after a 24.6 percent decrease year on year in April, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) said on Friday.

Month on month, industrial production rose by 10.1 percent in May after a 25.5 decrease in April.

Economists polled by PAP expected May's industrial output to shrink by 18.0 percent year on year and to rise by 8.8 percent month on month.

May's seasonally adjusted industrial production index dropped by 15.5 percent year on year and increased by 12.2 percent month on month, GUS added.
