Sejm (lower house) Speaker Elzbieta Witek on Wednesday met with Poland's ambassador to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), Adam Halacinski, to discuss the priorities within the organisation and Poland's upcoming OSCE presidency.

The ambassador outlined the key issues for Poland, including the conflict in Ukraine and its importance for the security and stability of the region, as well as Poland's presidency of OSCE in 2022, the Sejm said in a news release.

Halacinski said Warsaw's presidency had been accepted by all member states.

The two officials also discussed the current global situation, particularly the Middle East issue, the Sejm also said.

OSCE aims to strengthen security and co-operation in the political and military, economic and ecological, and humanitarian dimensions. OSCE decisions are consensus-based but are not legally binding.
