Poland's GDP up 4.5 pct y/y in 2nd quarter - stats office
The Polish economy grew by 4.5 pct year on year in the second quarter of 2019, down from a 4.7 pct growth in the first quarter, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) said on Friday. In its earlier flash estimate, GUS put the Q2 growth rate figure at 4.4 pct.
Investments grew by 9.0 percent year on year in the second quarter of 2019, individual consumption increased by 4.4 percent and domestic demand went up by 4.8 percent, GUS data show.
Economists polled by PAP in late August expected investment to grow by 8.7 pct, individual consumption to rise by 4.2 pct and domestic demand to increase by 4.3 pct.
