Poland's GDP up 2.0 pct y/y in 1st quarter - stats office
The Polish economy grew by 2.0 percent year on year in the first quarter of 2020, down from a 3.2 percent growth in the fourth quarter, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) said on Friday. In its earlier flash estimate, GUS put the Q1 growth rate figure at 1.9 pct.
Investments grew by 0.9 percent year on year in the first quarter of 2020, individual consumption increased by 1.2 percent and domestic demand went up by 1.7 percent, GUS data show.
Economists polled by PAP expected investment to grow by 3.0 percent, individual consumption to rise by 1.5 percent and domestic demand to increase by 1.4 percent.
