Poland's GDP to fall by 8 pct in Q2 of 2020 - economic institute
Poland's economic growth will decrease by 8 percentage points in the second quarter of 2020, according to experts from the Polish Economic Institute (PIE).
"Economic activity in the second quarter in Poland was better than forecasts showed, but it is still difficult to be optimistic, taking into account the results of other EU countries. The outlook for Europe and the global economy in the coming months is negative. (...) Data for Poland will be released in two weeks," the report said.
PIE noted that the economic rebound in the second half of 2020 may be weakened by the second wave of COVID-19 outbreaks in Europe.
Although re-freezing of the economy seems unlikely, PIE said that some restrictions will need to be restored.
