Poland's GDP growth may rise above 4 percent in the fourth quarter of the year provided there are no shocks to the economy, the development and technology minister has told PAP.

The Polish statistical office reported on Tuesday that GDP grew by 3.5 percent year on year in the third quarter against 5.8 percent in the second and 8.5 percent in the first.

The GDP figure for the third quarter comes as a "very good piece of news," Waldemar Buda said commenting on the data.

According to him, the slowdown in growth in Q3 "was anticipated, but it is below expectations."

"If the fourth quarter brings no shock to the economy, we may expect we will reach GDP growth of above 4 percent," Buda added.
