Poland's former PM Jan Olszewski dies aged 88

Jan Olszewski, who served as Poland's prime minister in 1991-1992, has died, ruling party Law and Justice (PiS) senior member Antoni Macierewicz told PAP on Friday.

Born on August 20, 1930, Jan Olszewski was a defence attorney in trials of oppositionists during communist times, and a prime minister, political leader and adviser to the late President Lech Kaczyński in democratic Poland.
