Poland's food exports up 7 pct y/y after first eleven months of 2020

Poland's agricultural and food exports increased by 7 percent, or EUR 2 billion, year on year after the first eleven months of 2020 to EUR 31.3 billion, according to the country's agriculture support centre.
At the same time, Poland's agricultural and food imports increased by 4.8 percent year on year to EUR 20.4 billion, the National Support Centre for Agriculture (KOWR) reported on Tuesday.
As a result, Poland's foreign trade surplus for the agricultural sector after the first eleven months of 2020 rose by over 11 percent year on year to EUR 10.8 billion, KWOR wrote.
The majority of Polish food products were exported to EU countries, with their value amounting to EUR 25 billion or around 80 percent of the total. Non-EU countries imported Polish food worth over EUR 6.2 billion, up by 16 percent year on year from EUR 5.4 billion.
The share of revenues obtained from foreign sales of agri-food products in total Polish exports also increased. In the period of the first eleven months of 2020, this share reached 14.4 percent against 13.5 percent in the same period of 2019.
