The indicator measuring the condition of the economy in most areas of Poland's economy remains at a similar level or is better in September than in August, the Central Statistical Office said in a report released on Tuesday.

In the manufacturing sector, the indicator stood at minus 6.2, a similar level to those recorded in August (minus 6.6).

In construction, on the other hand, this indicator is minus 15.0 in September, up from minus 15.4 in August, GUS said.

According to the report, September's wholesale trade index is at the level of minus 4.5, similar to August (minus 4.6).

The situation has improved in retail trade, as the general economic climate indicator is at the level of minus 6.5, higher than a month ago (minus 9.8).

Also, a higher level than in August was recorded in transport and storage, which reached minus 8.7 against minus 12.7 a month earlier.

In the accommodation and gastronomy sectors, the general economic climate index in September stands at minus 21.2 against minus 19.3 in August. At the same time, entities operating in accommodation services show more unfavourable assessments of the economic situation (minus 31.3) than those in the catering sector (minus 12.6).

In the information and communications sector, the general economic climate indicator in September is at the level of 9.5, higher than a month ago (5.4).

Also in finances and insurance, the general economic climate index in September is at the level of plus 5.6, higher than in August (plus 2.7).
