Jerzy Owsiak, who for the past 27 years has organised Poland's nationwide charity events run under the logo of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, which he founded in 1993, has tested positive for coronavirus.

Owsiak said on Facebook he took the test on Tuesday after he felt "typical flu symptoms," including a high temperature and muscle pains.

"This shows the many different forms the coronavirus takes," he added.

Owsiak also appealed to society not to underestimate even the slightest symptoms and to observe safety measures.
