Poland's April industrial output may drop by 5 pct - ministry

Poland's economic output will most likely see a 5 percent year-on-year decline in April, the Development Ministry wrote on Tuesday.

"Considering that the restrictions aimed at curbing the spread of the coronavirus throughout the country were in force only for a small part of March, in our opinion the full impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Polish economy will only become visible in April," the ministry noted.

It added that the its forecast is hinged on further epidemic-related developments and producers' ability to adapt to the new reality.

According to data released by the Central Statistical Office on Tuesday, industrial production in March fell by 2.3 percent y/y and increased by 2.4 percent m/m.
