Poland's 2020 budget receipts could match previous year's - MinFin

Polish budget revenues, including those from VAT, have been returning to their previous levels, giving the government the hope of collecting a similar sum for the state budget as last year, Deputy Finance Minister Sebastian Skuza told the Senate on Wednesday.

"According to data after August and September, budget revenues are returning to previous levels. Especially the value added tax (VAT - PAP). But we still need to spur investment so that next year GDP growth can return at least to the levels seen in previous years," Skiba told the Senate's budget and public finance committee.

Skiba said that VAT receipts could reach the 2019 level this year, albeit not to the extent originally planned in the 2020 budget law.

Excise tax revenues "are also on the rise," Skiba added.
