Polish Climate Minister Michal Kurtyka met with US Ambassador to Poland Georgette Mosbacher on Thursday to discuss cooperation in the energy and climate sector, the Climate Ministry said in a Friday news release.

At the meeting, Kurtyka praised Polish-US cooperation in the energy sector and expressed hope for its continuation and development in the future, the ministry said.

Other areas of cooperation that the two officials discussed included forestry and climate protection, the statement went on to say.

"We will cooperate with the US delegation at the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change - PAP) and we are interested in further cooperation in technology and low-emission investments in all sectors of the economy," the statement said.

"The US ambassador reaffirmed that she will support Polish climate and energy activities and expressed admiration for the measures that Poland has undertaken in this area so far," the ministry wrote.
